The Butterfly Athletic Park Has Been Funded
The Butterfly Foundation has achieved its initial project goal of raising $425,000 to complete Butterfly Athletic Park at Wales Primary School after receiving a capstone grant from the State of New York.
Combined with the region-wide outpouring of financial and in-kind support, the grant provides final funding for the park. The playground portion of the project was built this spring by over 200 volunteers who gave of their time, talent, equipment and supplies. A pavilion, final landscaping, and track painting will be completed in the next few weeks.
“We are humbled by the overwhelming generosity of our community.”
Now, the foundation is exploring additional projects where it can make a difference, and welcomes ideas and suggestions from the community.
We are humbled by the overwhelming generosity of our community in creating Butterfly Athletic Park. We are grateful for each and every person’s contribution. Together, we are channeling our emotion into a positive place for the health and enjoyment of thousands of youth. With encouragement from the community, we are beginning planning for other projects,” the Butterfly Foundation said in a statement.
